The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is a European privacy law approved by the European Commission in 2016 went into effect today, May 25th 2018.
While the vast majority of Wealthbox customers and their clients are located in the United States, we also have many users around the world, including Europe. As such, the Wealthbox CRM product is now compliant with GDPR regulations.
In the last few months, we’ve been going through a GDPR compliance process with consultants, attorneys, and our own internal teams to ensure that Wealthbox is compliant and preserves users’ privacy in accordance with GDPR. With Wealthbox’s new Data Protection Officer (DPO) position, a new title at Wealthbox and now a manager resident on our team, we have advanced the security and privacy practices to conform to these new privacy regulations. They are compliant with GDPR and impact various functional groups of our organization, including engineering, operations, marketing, support, and customer success.
At Wealthbox, a CRM product owned and operated by Starburst Labs, we take privacy and security seriously. We’re of the opinion that our users’ data privacy is critically important and while we already have strong security and privacy practices in place that are similar to or go beyond the mandates of the European legislation, our compliance with GDPR should provide further comfort and trust, particularly to our European customers and their clients.
